We showed 17 horses at the New England Morgan Horse show in Northampton, MA. We came home with 13 blue ribbons, eight championship and three reserve championship ribbons. In three of the classes our horses were first and second.
In the Three-Year-Old English Pleasure class, Ledyard Farms’ Ledyard Thunderbolt won, ridden by John Velardi. Dwayne was reserve riding Mesmer Eyes for owner Kim Cramer.
In the Junior Classic Pleasure Driving Championship, Dianne Lents drove her mare, Outrageouslee (Astronomicallee x CHMH Spice Town Girl GCH), to the championship. Her half-sister, Khaleesi (CBMF Uprising CH x CHMF Spice Town Girl GCH), and owner Tony Lee, were reserve champions. Tony bred and raised both tri-color winners.
We took nine horses to the Massachusetts Morgan Horse Show in West Springfield. We came home with five championships, one reserve championship and seven blue ribbons.
While most were putting their show clothes away, Dwayne was exchanging them for his judging clothes. He is off to judge the Jubilee in Springfield, IL and the Michigan Morgan Breeders Futurity in East Lansing.
News from the Broadmoor Gang
In mid-June, Mike, Dwayne, John Velardi and Grant Hoofer attended the Philadelphia Flower Show, which is 193 years old. This year’s theme was “In Full Bloom,” showcasing the restorative and healing powers of nature.
During breaks at the Syracuse International Horse Show, many enjoyed dining at area restaurants. Several also played games at the Fair.
At New England, cupcakes decorated with Broadmoor blue and red icing, were served during the progressive box seat party.
Our next stop is the New York Morgan Horse Show. Safe travels and we look forward to seeing you there.
