New Additions
To her menagerie of former Broadmoor barn cats, Sharon Picus added a 10-week-old Doberman puppy. ‘Walter’ is her first red Doberman. The cats get out of his way when he gallops around the house. However, they steal his food, bed and toys. Sharon posts photos and funny fur family stories on her Facebook page. I’m sure these will create lots of giggles for years to come.
News from the Broadmoor Gang
We are happy to learn that Cindy Nord is doing well following a reverse shoulder replacement surgery last month. She is working daily with a physical therapist to gain back her arm strength.
Linda Brewer joined Pat Dills for a too-short winter getaway at the Dills’ family ski house overlooking the slopes of the Holiday Valley Resort in Ellicottville, NY. They enjoyed cross country skiing and riding the Sky Flyer Mountain Coaster. They each were strapped onto the coaster for two individual runs. At the end of each day, they looked forward to sitting in the hot tub with refreshments. Leigh Ann Buzzard joined them on Saturday for some tasting delight at the Ellicottville Brewing Company.
Kim Germ-Cramer also enjoyed skiing last month. She joined friends at the Killington Ski Resort in Killington, VT. They took a side trip to Woodstock, where Kim found herself standing beside the Justin Morgan marker.
Assistant trainer John Velardi’s vacation lasted a bit longer than planned due to a major snowstorm shutting down the Lehigh Valley International Airport. He was in Missouri visiting a friend who trains reining and cutting horses. He was taught how to rope a cow, and got a few practice throws in thanks to the use of a fake cow pulled by an ATV. John also got to stand on the Missouri Association of Surveyors’ monument so he could say he had his feet in Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma at the same time.
During the off season, Pat Dills has switched from watching Morgans show via a live feed to watching her 15-year-old granddaughter, Tess, compete in swimming meets via live feeds. Tess is winning lots as an individual in several different strokes, as well as being the successful anchor on the relay team for Boiling Springs High School.
The last week of February, we look forward to our first Jane Bennett Boot Camp of the 2021 show season.
